Gracefully Giving Back is an organization dedicated to providing support, services, and lending a helping hand to those in need. Our network of local volunteers share our mission of helping people age with dignity, grace, and compassion. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and to live a life of purpose. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Let Us Introduce Ourselves

In October 2023, we will formally introduce Gracefully Giving Back to the Norfolk philanthropic community.
Along with our sponsor – Jay Knobbe of Insurance 365 – we will be hosting a cocktail and hor’s d’oevres
evening at one of the city’s premier venues -Black Cow, Fat Pig. Invitations will be sent out. We hope
you will join us. Learn about our mission and how you can help us serve our community.

Mother’s Day Card Delivery

On May 13th, the volunteers for Gracefully Giving Back delivered over 270 Mother’s Day cards to local
nursing homes. Everyone was very grateful to receive a card. We will make this an annual event.

Father’s Day Card Delivery

For Father’s Day on June 18th, our volunteers went to local nursing homes and delivered 280 Father’s
Day cards. Men are often overlooked in nursing homes. Our volunteers reported that the recipients were very happy to see that they haven’t been forgotten.

Let’s Make Some Music

Volunteer Mike Gall visited Madison House Senior Living Center in July and entertained the residents there with his guitar. Mike played some gospel, country and some “Golden Oldies” for the residents and brightened up their day.

Who Let the Dogs Out?

In July, Volunteer Shelly Krog brought her prize-winning bulldogs to Madison House Senior Living Center. The residents joyfully received the dogs and had a lot of fun petting and spoiling them.

“Sit a Spell” Bench Project

Mitch Miller at Maximum Construction has offered to design and build 6 benches for Gracefully Giving Back to place around the city. Our first bench will be installed at the Veteran’s Home in the fall. They will be a mixture of wrought iron and wood and have a small plaque that designates them as a donation from Gracefully Giving Back.

Would You Like A Manicure Day

We will have volunteers visiting local nursing homes and offering mini-manicures to the female
residents.

Thank a Vet Day

We will be visiting the local Veteran’s home with gifts for the Vets there. We will also visit Vets that may be residing in other nursing homes in our gifting area.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

We will be placing gift trees around Norfolk in places such as Lou’s Thrifty Way, Premier Senior Marketing and The Norfolk Chamber of Commerce. We will also be bringing Christmas Card to resident of local nursing homes. We are hoping to put together some volunteers that will go around to our nursing homes and sing Christmas Carols.
